Begin from Within

Tapping into what matters the most when we practice.

As we step into life today and every day, we sometimes come to a crossroads where the unknown can scare the heck out of us.  There is a part of all of us that wants to be secure, certain, safe and feel comfort in all that we have come to trust. The irony about comfort is, in order to truly feel comfortable in situations, we must seek out the comfort within the discomfort.  It's within the eye of the storm that we discover faith.

Faithful steps may feel like a tightrope walker with no net underneath us.  If we refuse to take these steps only if we can see the safety net, we transform the net to become a trap as it creates a barrier between us and the freedom to pursue our life's desires.  With practice, we remove the fear from the equation and then, without ever wondering what is going on down below, we move straight towards the abundance that awaits us in life.

The wisdom traditions tell us that support shows up at just the right time.  It's only when we take those first tentative steps that we're shown that the fears were all just an illusion.  It's the steps we take as we progress that reinforce our highest and best experience of growth.  The support can come from a surprisingly soft landing, an unexpected rescue or a heart opening experience.

When we gather to practice on the mat, we're consciously stepping into the unknown, placing ourselves into the metaphoric eye of the storm.  We bgin to appreciate the fullness of life when we are wiling to trust and fall.

When we place trust in the flow of Grace surrounding us at all times, our inborn strengths are sculpted, toned, honed, and integrated into all we do.  Each and every class at Inner Strength is geared towards providing the space for you to get uncomfortable and to find the comfort within.

Each of us has at our finger tips the ability to make a huge difference in the world around us.  We impact the world around us by firstly impacting the world within. Sometimes our internal limitations, fears and uncertainty can hold us back from seeing our true internal potential.  If it's more love we want to see in the world we must love ourselves.  If it's more patience in others, we must begin within.  If it's courage, well, courage is continuing to step forward on our journey in spite of fear.

We attend to our homes, workplaces, communities, and countries bring a brightness to them when we come to them from a positive place.  This internal positivism echo's outward in the way we see the world.  We offer a donation of time or money, a smile at those we meet and lend a helping hand when needed.  As we grow as individuals, we inadvertently improve the universe because we are truly involved when we begin within.

Even when we have an idea and share it with others enthusiastically, or exemplify selfless and helpful deeds, we're reminded that we have more control over a world that can seem so damn chaotic and unfair at times.  As we look around and see the reflection of negativity generated by the suffering, pain and close-mindedness, we can contrast that in a very constructive way by thinking and acting compassionately.  After all, the only reason we can identify those qualities in others is because we identify it within ourselves.

Assisting in the changes we want to see in the world around us begins in a moment.  Just a loving thought or a reminder of the abundance in our lives can have a processional effect.

Each and every class is like a mini yoga instructor training.  We have as our intention, to bring this idea of beginning within into each class and it's our hopes that we take what we've discovered on the mat out into the world.

On behalf of the entire Leadership Team, THANK YOU!
