We often hear people telling us to let go, but we may not be sure what that means and how we might do it. After all, has anyone ever taught us HOW to let go? Letting go is a way of bringing ourselves literally back to earth. We all fall prey to the emotional upwells and the mental fluctuations that can sometimes last for days, weeks and even years. I'm here to tell you that the wisdom tradition of yoga claims, with practice, we can make one minute ago, ancient history. Your time invested on the yoga mat will show you the 'how to' of letting go. The single most important aspect of letting go begins with bringing our attention to our breath as it enters and leaves our bodies. After about 10 breaths, we will probably find that we feel much more connected to our physical selves. We might then bring our awareness to the sensations in our bodies, moving from our head down to our feet, exploring and inquiring. Just a few minutes of this can bring us home to our bodies and to the earth, and this is what it means to let go. Our consistent practice of Inner Strength continues to tap our roots deeper into the essence of being so when the winds of challenge begin to swirl, our roots keep us steady and letting go becomes more natural. When we truly let go, powerful energy becomes available to us, allowing us to move more effortlessly towards what's most vital and sacred to us.
We all know about the idea of letting go. We know the philosophy of letting go. However, you will only feel it when you practice it!
