We at Inner Strength Studios consider the practice of Yoga a means to an end. It's the means and the end. In regards to the "means", Yoga consists of a variety of techniques that, when practiced with intention and attention, transforms your quality of life. This quality of life can be seen as an "end".
Yoga is not something you merely do, rather it is the state of mind or being that you exist in while doing. Whether it be Yoga asana (body positions), pranayama (the spreading out of the internal breath), meditation, weight training, dancing, walking on the treadmill or looking into the eyes of the person you love, Yoga can teach us to be more alive, aware and involved in what is going on inside and all around us.
This "sensory acuity" that is the by-product or "end" of the practice of Yoga can be used to identify stress when it invades our bodies, enable us to identify with clarity our emotions and mental states and give us deeper insights to our true nature. Yoga gives us tools to integrate our mind, body and the power and magic of the human spirit.
On a physical level practicing Yoga asana properly can help relieve LBP (lower back pain), strengthen the core, develop balance and coordination, lengthen, strengthen and tone muscles. A well balanced asana class can help to safely reintegrate old injuries, relieve stress and tensions and much more.
Many of us engage in yoga seeking physical benefits and soon realize it touches every aspect of our lives. It challenges our beliefs, strengthens our will, and supports us throughout the joys and sorrows of our daily life. Through our practice, we find we become kinder to ourselves, more forgiving toward others, and tolerant of our own imperfections.
Inner Strength offers our community the following Yoga class structures. All classes are heated unless otherwise noted:
-90 Min Flow
-75 Min Flow
-Yoga Basics (90 Minutes and 75 minutes)

-Hour of Power (60 Minutes)
-Baby and Me Yoga (Unheated 60 minutes)

Classes at Inner Strength tune into the natural flow of breath then begin by gently lengthening and deepening each breath. Within the length and depth of breath we move our bodies. Throughout the rise and fall of intensity we learn through practice how to remain present and in control using ancient yet accessible breathing techniques. (pranayama) Each class offers a series of Asanas or (body postures) that are linked together with the breath. This repetition of breath and movement brings an element of cardiovascular conditioning to the class increasing the caloric expenditure, improving circulation and safely working the heart. Our highly skilled teachers offer variations to help safely build the beginner as well as more challenging variations to bring the advanced beginner safely to their edge. The room is heated, surrounding you like a blanket to gently invite the muscles to supple and elongate. Over time the muscles retain the length and strengthen. This "re-integration" helps improve posture and offers the body the space to maintain health.
For new students to Inner Strength, we offer 2 weeks of unlimited yoga classes for only $25! Our recommendation is to practice as many classes in a row as possible during this initial 14 days. By practicing as much as possible in the beginning you will be able to feel the shifts in your everyday lives. Quite honestly, it's the shifts that keep you coming back for more.
Roman's days are filled with being the owner of Inner Strength Studios’ West Roxbury and Watertown locations and being a new father, sought-after certified personal trainer, an ER 500 RYT Yoga instructor, lululemon ambassador, and an all-around guide and business coach to the studios’ independent teachers and health practitioners.
Roman's goal at Inner Strength Studios is to bring together the highest quality instructors, therapists and trainers under one roof to serve the Inner Strength community, as well as to foster an environment for aspiring healers to develop their passion.
Right out of high school, Roman enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Shortly after serving, he began Inner Strength, a Yoga-based wellness company. More than 15 years ago Roman founded the company upon the belief that everything we need can be found within us. Roman also believes that clients deserve intelligent, reliable and trusted information to guide them throughout their journey and beyond. Based on these guiding principles, Inner Strength’s popular, successful studios have become a place for people to make changes in their lives.
Along his own journey, Roman trekked around the world to study with various experts and gurus – all claiming that their way was the only way. Disappointed by these insufficient options, Roman knew there had to be a better alternative! He has since discovered, through immersing himself in four of the most prominent styles of Yoga (Iyengar, Anusara, Power Vinyasa, and Tantra), that Yoga is truly inclusive – and less exclusive. By dissolving the boundaries and differences between these Yoga styles, while highlighting that which joins them together, he has taken the guesswork and mysticism out and opened up the practice of Yoga to anyone seeking a quality of life shift.
As an ER500 RYT, Roman has coached clients of all ages, from 8 years old to 80. People from all walks of life, including doctors, lawyers, therapists, moms, and dads. Clients grow to trust Roman and Inner Strength Studios as a wellness resource. Meanwhile, Roman has successfully coached the Boston Police Academy, world-class athletes, children, prenatal clients, and everyone in between. His studios have served thousands, as Inner Strength has evolved into an institution of higher learning.
